Machine vision, enhanced by artificial intelligence, is becoming a key enabler of intelligent manufacturing that moves beyond conventional inspection toward real-time understanding and control of complex processes. In areas such as robotic welding and additive manufacturing, where process dynamics are highly sensitive and defects can be challenging to detect or predict, AI-powered vision systems provide powerful solutions for enhancing quality, consistency, and efficiency.
This symposium focuses on the application of machine vision and AI in advanced manufacturing contexts, with particular attention to high impact use cases in robotic welding and additive manufacturing. Topics include vision-based defect detection, melt pool monitoring, in-situ process control, surface inspection, and closed-loop feedback systems. These technologies play a critical role in enabling autonomous manufacturing, minimizing rework, and ensuring the structural integrity of critical components.
By highlighting both foundational research and industrial applications, the symposium offers a platform to explore how intelligent vision systems are transforming the future of process control and quality assurance in next-generation manufacturing.
The symposium covers, but is not limited to, the following topics:
– Intelligent manufacturing techniques
– Robotic and intelligentized welding manufacturing
– AI-driven machine vision for manufacturing
– Vision-based defect detection and classification
– Vision-based monitoring of robotic welding and additive manufacturing
– In-situ quality control and adaptive feedback systems
